Errors and omissions in my books

When I write books, I do my absolute best to ensure that they are accurate and without typos, errors or omissions. But I am human, and sometimes those things happen anyway. In some cases I have read a manuscript twenty times, paid three people to check it, and then submitted it to the publisher who has put it through a gruelling editing and proofreading process, and still a typo gets through. It’s as though each book needs to have a chink in it, to make it more real. It’s an awful feeling when you find one, but once they are on the printed page there is not much we as authors can do about it, except advise the publisher so it is corrected for future editions, and accept responsibility for the error and apologise, which I do.

However, I also want to make clear what the typos were, so readers have the right information, if it matters to them. For that reason, I have collated all the known typos in my books below. And if you are lucky enough to find a book with these errors in, hold onto it. It might be worth some money in the future!

p.82 para 3 – ‘March 10’ should be ‘March 19’

p.174 final para – the words ‘who had given him a job.’ are missing from the end of the sentence ‘…CEO of Spiber, an innovative biotech company’.

p.188 para 3 – ‘acceptance of the appreciation’ should be ‘acceptance and appreciation’

p.194 para 1 ‘came floating back’ should be ‘comes floating back’ (because the whole section is in the present tense)

p.194 para 2 ‘what happens what we die’ should be ‘what happens when we die’

THE WAY OF THE FEARLESS WRITER (2022) – UK first edition only

p38 line 9 ‘Itis’ should be ‘It is’
p.192 line 4 the incorrect character is given for yang – unfortunately the character for yin was repeated in this paragraph in error at the typesetting stage. It should read ‘The character for yang in Japanese (陽), which is read yо̄, means light.’
p.226 spelling of ‘Craig Anczelowitz’
p.234 podcast title corrections: ‘The Tim Ferriss Podcast with Tim Ferriss’ and ‘Windowsill Chats with Margo Tantau’
Some tonal marks were missing for Chinese characters and have since been added for consistency (yuán (p.1), Dáodéjīng (p.15 and several other locations), wú wéi (p.19) zìrán (p.19)
